One of the key ingredients of the Zena Algae Peel is its high concentration of Vitamin A, E, and C, as well as minerals. The results for a Zena Peel are amazing, however, it is a bit spicier and your skin may shed for about 7-10 days.
PRIOR TO TREATMENT
- Please fill out all waivers and contraindication forms prior to coming in to make sure you are a good candidate. Feel free to book a skin consult if you are unsure of anything.
- Avoid any skincare actives, (especially medical grade) for about 4-5 days before your treatment date.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Your skin may experience temporary irritation or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.
- You may experience tingling and stinging in the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within a few hours.
- For a mild peel, there is little to no downtown. Some light flaking may occur. A Zenae peel is a bit spicier and you will see some downtown for about 7-10 days.
- Client experiences may vary. Some clients may experience a delayed onset of these symptoms.
- You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin may feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks with appropriate home care to maintain treatment results.
POST-TREATMENT CARE
- Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 30 sunscreen.
- Try not to put any water on your face for 24 hours
- Stay away from heat: i.e. hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga/exercising for 24 hours
- Avoid any actives for atleast 7 days after treatment (Ex. Glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinols, hydroquinone etc. )
- Clients will experience shedding for 7-10 days. Do not pick, peel or scratch treated area.
- Stay hydrated!
